3 Ways I Make Resolutions Stick
I make resolutions every single year and probably always will. I love making lists, goal setting, vision boards, etc. Naturally resolutions speak to me. I adore the idea of setting goals for your year and looking ahead to all that is to come while focused on becoming a better person. Of course there are years that I am not successful with them all (ie every year) but here are some tricks I've picked up over the years to help increase their changes of sticking.
Don't Get Boring
Don't stick to the same old thing every year if it isn't happening for you. Get inventive@ I usually stick to around five or less but they are always challenging. One year I made twelve, one for each month. Most were shorter term but still pushed me outside my comfort zone in big ways.
Get Others Involved
Talk to people about your resolutions. Get feedback! My hubby and I always discuss resolutions. We have even set some for each other before which can be super fun. Talk to family or friends. They can give you ideas you might never have thought of on your own.
Keep It Real
The point of resolutions is goals but be honest with yourself. In other words don't set yourself up for failure. Prioritize! If those extra 10 pounds really don't bother you all that much then the gym should not be at the top of your list. On that same note though make resolutions that are measurable. Resolutions can lead to amazing self growth but only with reflection on why it worked or didn't.
If resolutions work or don't is different for every person but they definitely serve as a reminder that the new year also does, which is that anyone can change and anything is possible.
